Towards the end of his time on earth, Jesus gathered the disciples for what would later become known as the Great Commission. In words that  would echo throughout the generations of the Church, Jesus said, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” This is our mission! It is not about how many ministries we have or programs we run… it is about how many disciples that we make! We must become a Church that seeks out all of God’s children, no matter how lost or broken they are, and bring them to our family. Like our patrons, our parish family must become a holy family, wherein all who join us might encounter the Lord and have their lives transformed. This is Divine Renovation. The work it calls us to is so rewarding, but not necessarily easy. A team of parishioners and staff have been gathered to pray and consider the steps necessary in bringing the Divine Renovation model to Holy Family. At the moment, we are still in infancy and so no plan or strategy is ready to report. But we encourage all parishioners to pray that God might guide our parish to live the mission of his Great Commission! In the coming weeks and months, you will begin to hear inklings of what is happening and what is coming – Father Dan and Deacon Mike’s homilies will be signposts indicating where we are heading.

You might be thinking, ‘this is the first I am hearing of Divine Renovation’. “What is it and what am I supposed to do?’ Those answers will come in time. For now, we invite you to pray for our parish and for those who have been called to lead this process. We ask that you pray that our parish may be open to however the Holy Spirit calls us to live our mission. Good things are coming, we promise!
