. Christ the Divine Teacher School The first Holy Family School was opened in September 1861 in a one room building erected at a cost of $500 and staffed with one lay teacher. Its second century began August 1961 with the dedication of a twenty-four room school housing 875 students and staffed by 11 Sisters of Mercy and seven Lay Teachers. The Parish rejoices in this history of service to the Community and its educational needs, and is happy to add its school to the others school facilities of the city.
